WMU Libraries Central Reference Department
The Central Reference Department, located on the 1st floor of Waldo Library, is the primary “Ask Us” service in the University Libraries.
The area houses over 80 public work/scholar stations, a large collection of printed reference resources, and has professional librarians, staff, and student employees available during all service hours. Patrons can:
- Work one on one with reference staff to find information and do research
- Learn how to navigate the Libraries’ Web site
- Develop searching skills in the best databases relevant to your needs
- Locate or ask for specific facts and data on any topic
- Seek selection advice on “best” sources
- Become independent users of the many resources (books, journals, government documents, media, etc.) found online and in print in the University Libraries
- Reference Desk hours:
- Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m. - Midnight
- Friday: 8am - 6pm
- Saturday: 10am - 6pm
- Sunday: Noon - Midnight
- Faculty Librarians are available for individual tutorials. Check the Library Liaison list for subject specializations.
